The hardest battle
Here's a quotation I came across today that I actually discovered about 35 years ago or so. I loved it then and I love it now:
To be nobody-but-yourself – in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else – means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.
I didn't know these either. I did think, this spring, that God only ever answers, "I Am What I Am," to the question of what His name is. And, I'm made in the image of God. It seems to me logical then, that God wants me to be what I am. Hard work, and worth the effort.

I've always liked e.e. cummings' poetry. Thanks for introducing me to these words of his.
