Sit like a mountain

You will gradually learn to sit like a mountain. Though thoughts will arise, they are merely clouds passing by the mountain. The mountain need not be perturbed by clouds. The clouds pass on, and the mountain continues to sit – observing all, grasping at nothing.

  1. I was away on the weekend Ellie -- deliberately off someplace with no computer. No TV, no radio, no CD player ... Occasionally I went out and saw people, and I made a few phone calls. I read, prayed, meditated, drew a mandala, wrote a poem ... I love this picture -- it looks like ice. And I love the lines you have beneath it. I was looking at the peony earlier and telling a friend -- if you sat very still, you could watch them grow. If you sat like a mountain, you could.
